Taura Mizrahi – Owner, Professional Writer
Taura Mizrahi is a published author whose work has been featured on Oprah, and in People Magazine. Taura’s career began in the entertainment industry. As a reality television segment producer she worked on shows for MTV, Studios USA, Fox Family, Wolf Films, and Paramount Television. During this time, Taura not only developed story lines, but also conducted over 100 on-camera interviews.
Although she enjoyed working in television, Taura turned towards a career in service taking on the post of Director of Development with Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica and later Boys & Girls Club of Venice. At the Boys & Girls Clubs, she was able to focus on marketing and writing. Taura oversaw several fundraising events, wrote grants, worked on various campaigns, coordinated direct mail appeals, and generated all press and marketing materials.
While the work was fulfilling, Taura found that she most enjoyed the writing aspects of the position and decided to start her own business, The Write Approach. Providing professional freelance writing services to businesses, individuals, and non-profits, Taura is able to combine her talents for writing, marketing, and communicating. Taura graduated with her Masters degree from the University of Southern California Master of Professional Writing Program . While at USC Taura was the Associate Fiction Editor and the Managing Editor of the Southern California Anthology, an acclaimed literary journal. She has also studied at Charles University in Prague. Taura completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder where she graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Humanities and an emphasis in English Literature and in Film.
Sandra Vahtel – Professional Writer
Originally from Oregon, Sandra Vahtel holds a master’s degree in professional writing from the University of Southern California and a bachelor’s in film studies from Southern Methodist University. She is the former editor-in-chief of the Southern California Review and has been a freelance writer and editor since 2008. Having worked with several nonprofits, Sandra also specializes in grant writing. In her spare time she writes stageplays and is currently working on her first novel.
Jillian Tessman – Business Plans and Business Documents
Jillian Tessman is a graduate of the University of Southern California’s Lloyd Greif Center for Entrepreneurial studies. Currently employed as the Operations and Marketing Director for Tom’s Toys, a family-owned toy store chain in the Southern California area, Jillian has helped the company reach new heights through establishing an online sales department. She is also heavily involved with arts management and non-profit theatre, establishing her own theater production company, GYS Productions, in 2006. Familiar with the real-life essentials for both commercial businesses and non-profit organizations, Jillian specializes in creating business plans and other professional business documents such as one-sheets, presentations, and proposals.
Grant Stoner – Writer/Social Media Marketing
A graduate of Columbia College Chicago’s Film Program, Grant Stoner is currently attending Antioch University Los Angeles studying Business and Social Entrepreneurship. Mr. Stoner recently served as Director of Membership and Managing Editor of the PGA Networker Magazine at the Producers Guild of America and as Director of Development at Riverview Films. He is also a freelance script analyst, writer and producer, completing three short films; The Nervous System, Three Days of Sound, and American Nocturnal. Additionally, he recently Executive Produced the feature documentary The Jukebox Man’s Son.
